Butter Naan

Servings: 8 Pcs

Cooking Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all purpose flour (Maida)
  • 2 tbsp curd (Dahi)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm milk for kneading the dough
  • 2 tbsp ghee or any refined oil
  • Butter for smearing
  • All purpose flour for rolling

Procedure:

Step 1: Add baking powder,sugar and salt in curd and mix well.

Step 2: Add curd mixture  and oil to all purpose flour, knead into a soft dough using warm milk. Cover the dough and keep it aside for around 3-4 hours. Keep it in a warm place.

Step 3: Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and roll out each portion of the dough into a small circle. Smear some butter on top and then fold it in semi circle form then again smear some butter on top of folded semi circle and fold it in form of triangle. Now roll it in triangle shape using all purpose flour. Naan should neither be very thin nor thick.

Step 4: Heat a tava and when tava is hot enough then place the naan gently over it.Cook it till small blisters appear on the surface. Turn over the naan and cook for few more seconds.

Step 4: Cook it on an open flame till it puffs up and brown spots appear on both the sides. Prepare more naan’s out of the remaining portion of dough. Smear butter on top and serve it with any curry of your choice. Enjoy !!

Handy Tip:

Naan taste best when it is hot.So avoid making naan on prior basis.
